INTRODUCTION
The Institute of
Women Development Studies,
University of Sindh, Jamshoro
established by the University of
Sindh in 1994, has contributed
to the cause of Gender and
Development in Sindh Province.
The Institute has launched
undergraduate and Post Graduate
Academic Programs in Women
Studies and Home-Economics and
has organized several continuing
education activities at Jamshoro,
Hyderabad and in rural areas for
the training and capacity
building
of various clientele groups
including women, academia
administrative staff, political
leadership and G & D
professionals.
MISSION
The ultimate goal
of the Institute of Women
Development Studies is to create
awareness among women regarding
their social, economic and legal
rights
and improve their status through
formal and informal education.
The interdisciplinary progress
is there to build their
confidence and to enhance their
hidden skills and ability to
face different challenges in the
different fields.
OUT REACH MASS AWARENESS
MOTIVATION & MOBILIZATION
The programme includes an
outreach component to reach
various women groups and
agencies dealing with women
issues. Seminars and work-shops
are a part of the programme
which will bring interested
agencies on a common plat form
to devise specific projects.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Various programme for the rural
& urban areas will be arranged,
like short certificate course in
subject such as fabric painting,
tie and dye,Italian work, Pot
painting, cooking and various
skill training programme.
