Alhamd-o-lillah Pakistan is an Islamic welfare state. The Social Welfare Department has been mandated with noble task of welfare and development of the masses in the province. The department carries out its mandate through District Governments, Social Welfare Departments of the other provinces, Federal Ministry of Social Welfare and Special Education Islamabad and International Organizations.

          While undertaking the Social Welfare programmes this department not only tries to reach the masses directly but also encourages the NGOs.

          The Social Welfare Department undertook new initiatives like development of new schemes, capacity building of officers & volunteers and support provided to the Children Involved in Camel Racing with the collaboration of UNICEF in order to improve their condition.  

          The initiatives would contribute significantly in raising the role of Social Welfare Department in overall social development and welfare of needy and marginalized people in the province.
