SCHEME OF EDUCATIONAL STIPENDS (MORA TECHNICAL)

 

The Government has launched a scheme of Educational Stipends to be known as MORA Technical.

 1.            The scheme is aimed at providing financial assistance to deserving trainees for acquiring skills trainings through technical institutes.

 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

 i)         Unemployed adult Muslim, living below poverty line (Rs. 670 per             month).

ii)        Possesses minimum qualification set for admission to the training             course by the training institute (by whatever name called) within      each Province.

iii)       Capable of self-employment without further support under any    Zakat disbursement programme.

Iv)       Age 18 -35 years.

 

   RATE OF STIPENDS / SCHOLARSHIP

 A maximum monthly amount of Rs. 2500/- per student shall be payable as MORA scholarship. Where necessary, the ceiling will be relaxable for reasons to be recorded in writing, by MORA scholarship committee, subject to final approval of the concerned District Zakat & Ushr Committee.

 In addition, one-time grant of Rs. 5000/- will also be paid to each student for the purchase of requires tools / equipment that would help him in self employment on the basis of training received and skill acquired. This payment will be made to the student only after the successful completetion of the training course.

 Allocation has been made on the basis of data completed by District Zakat & Ushr Committee from the year 2003-04 - 2007-08.

Istehqaq Forms are available with all District Zakat & Ushr Committees which may be obtained by the eligible trainees and submit to their Institute of training or to District Zakat & Ushr Committee concerned. The Form can also be downloaded from Department’s Website.
