Special Education:
Many children
and young people have
special education needs i.e.
learning difficulties,
communication, emotional or
behavioral difficulties, or
intellectual, sensory or
physical impairments.

Special
education
is the education of students
with special needs
in a way that addresses the
students' individual
differences and needs.
Ideally, this process
involves the individually
planned and systematically
monitored arrangement of
teaching procedures, adapted
equipment and materials,
accessible settings, and
other interventions designed
to help learners with
special needs achieve a
higher level of personal
self-sufficiency and success
in school and community.
It is the provision
of extra help, adapted programmes,
learning environments, or
specialized equipment or materials
to support children and young people
with their learning and help them
participate in education.
Special Education Department
Special Education
Department was established on 6th
April 2006, prior to its
establishment Bureau of Curriculum &
Extension Wing, Sindh, Jamshoro
attended the affairs under the
supervision of Education & Literacy
Department.
In pursuance of
Notification vide SORI(S&GAD)2-4/021(
Special Education) dt:3/1/2011
Government of Sindh, SGA&CD define
the role of the department as
under:
I).
Education & Welfare of physically handicapped children or persons especially deaf, dumb, blind and mentally retarded,
II).
Rehabilitation
of multiple handicapped children or
persons,
III).Service
matters, except those entrusted to
the Services, General Administration
& Coordination Department.

requiring special education

to become active members of
society based on their
individual strengths and
abilities.
III). to collaborate with,
provide & care for the contextual
community of dedicated staff and
involved parents that meets the
diverse academic, emotional, and
social needs of all of our students
in a respectful and positive
environment.
IV).
to eliminate the sense
of deprivation amongst the
Handicapped Children.

learning experiences that facilitate
success for students in special
education through high-quality
instruction, as well as
collaboration with parents,
students, schools, and the
community, students will focus on
their positive attributes and
recognize their individual strengths
and achievements to promote their
