District Setup Tehsil Program outlets

Tehsil

The Tehsil set up, headed by Tehsil Population Welfare Officer (TPWO), will have four staff members i.e. LDC (BS-5), Naib Qasid / Chowkidar (BS-1) and two new posts of Driver BS-4 and Male Supervisor BS-11 proposed during the 10th five year plan. At present this setup is in 46 Tehsils and it is proposed to extend to remaining Tehsils. The TPWO will monitor the functioning of MSUs, FWCs, VBFPW (Male) and prove intersectional support and community linkages to all other service delivery outlets. His other functions would be supported by ground-based committees at different levels to elicit insectoral support and committee linkages as under: -

To prepare Tehsil Population Profile with the help of District t Demographer.

To provide administrative and logistical support to FWCs MSUs and Village Based Family Planning Workers (Male).

To establish linkages with Health, TGIs, NGOs, & elected representatives.

To undertake regular review of the program implementation.

To supervise and monitor program activities in the Tehsil on a regular basis.

To deploy and supervise the work of Family Welfare Assistant in inter-personal motivation, distribution of contraceptives and IEC material.

To coordinate and liaise with Health and other departments for promotion of Family Planning/ Reproductive Health and seek their cooperation.

To compile, consolidate and submit performance report to the district.

To maintain inventory of all service outlets involved in the program and ensure distribution of contraceptives.

To maintain contact with the communities through a systematic program for creating awareness and adopt small family norm.

To conduct mass group meetings and assist district officers in organizing seminars, meeting etc.

To identify new areas and outlets for involvement in the program.

To organize and supervise film shows through the A.V vans.

To perform other functions assigned from time to time.

In order to make effective use of this cadre and to facilitate for the efficient working in the field specialty in for flung rural remote area, a vehicle along with Driver has been proposed at all the existing and proposed expanded Tehsil set up during the plan period.

The service delivery is the core component of the population welfare program for meeting the increasing demand for contraceptive service. The number of program and non program outlets providing services are given as under:-
