anthropological, and national interest in the province.
Its Advisory Committee with Chief Secretary meets frequently.
More than 600 sites have been notified as Protected Heritages.

               BHITSHSH CULTURAL COMPLEX
Among the cultural activities, high priority is attached to the works of Sufi
aints and promotion of Sufi literature. The Department accords prime
portance to the Bhitshah Cultural Complex, which is probably the finest
its kind in the country with a museum, library and open air auditorium.
Efforts are afoot to have flora of Risalo grown in historic Kirar Lake, Malakhra
  Stadium and theShah Jo bagh.
here is also a museum of folk lore quoted by Shah Latif in his poetry, functional
there.Patronage extended to the Fakirs of Shah Jo Raag during the last many
years has completely transformed the institution. This dwindling and dying art,
which had a few dedicated old cronies,is now enriched with life and new blood
  has been infused therein.
The stipend and the living quarters is but a befitting recompense. However, for
over 10 years this 1.40 acres complex is being maintained through a grant of
Rs.1.00 million only-so also the three days Urs festival where more than 200
atists gather to pay homage to the great sage – both these appropriations
need to be enhanced to Rs.1.5 million each.
   MUMTAZ MIRZA AUDIO VISUAL STUDIO
The Mumtaz Mirza Audio Visual Studio was established on the ground floor of
the Directorate of Culture in the memory of renowned folklorist late Mumtaz
Mirza, Ex-Director General Culture. This is now being update by adding a Music
Academy also.In this connection, the Department had included scheme in its
ADP titled tablishmentof Music Academy at Karachi.”
Through this scheme academic classes for learning folk music, shah-jo-raag
and the classic music of this province will run. Also, music classes will be
conducted with recording facilities. When the scheme is completed it will
be only its kind in the province. At present the Studio is badly hampered by
paucity of funds and lack of documentation / computerization of the existing
data in the form of studio, photographs and audio cassettes.
In the upcoming year the AD has had funds allocated for Mumtaz Mirza Studio
to the tine of Rs.1 million, however these may fall short of our targets.
         COMMUNITY CENTRES MEHAR AND BETO
Youth Community Centres at Mehar and Beto, District Dadu with libraries and
  computer centres have been established.
Although the amount is budgeted through SNE however due to vacancies of
officers and staff the centres are not functioning properly.
In order to encourage unemployed youth and students to study and use the
library and computers,it is proposed that the posts of Technical staff in the
two entres may be filled in to make them functional.
        INDU GYMKHANA/KAK MAHAL COMPLEX

Karachi was approved during 1993-94 at an estimated cost of Rs.19.1777
million. It has now been revised at 38.529. this institution as per the directive
of the then Chief Minister was to be made into a cultural heritage complex
and referred to as Kak Mahal Cultural Complex.
On the Directives of the President of Pakistan, the Hindu Gymkhana Building
was handed over to Mr. Zia Mohyeddin during 2004 for establishment of
  National Academy of Performing Arts.
The cultural material which was earlier placed in the Hindu Gymkhana was
shifted to Sndh Provincial Museum, Hyderabad.
The building is presently under occupation of National Academy of Performing
Arts. However it is also added here that, on the directive of the President of
Pakistan for opening of office of Mr. Zia Mohyddin for establishment of office
for Performing Art, the Department of Culture and Tourism has provided
