To Serve as an
exponent of Cooperative Movement under the
standard Bye-Laws, each Cooperative Society
Registered under the Cooperative Societies
Act, is required to be member of the Union.
So far 610 Societies have been enrolled as
members of the Union.
The Union is run by a 15
member Board of Directors headed by
Secretary, Cooperation Department,
Government of Sindh. Registrar, Cooperative
Societies, Sindh and representative
Societies in Sindh are the Directors of the
Board. An amenity plot No. SNPA-53 measuring
6490 sq yards situated within the
jurisdiction of Karachi Cooperative Housing
Societies Union was allotted to SPCU.
Presently a half constructed
building is available on the plot but is in
its worst possible condition. In order to
utilize it properly and for the purpose for
which the plot was allotted, a proposal is
under consideration for construction of
Cooperative House on the plot with the
provision of an auditorium, RCS office
complex and display center for promotion of
products of Traditional handicrafts of the
Sindh Province.
