Objectives of
the Agriculture Research |
- Evolution of new high
yielding and insect, pest, disease resistant
varieties of major and minor crops.
- Develop package of
appropriate improved production technologies for
crops / plants to get higher yields.
- Conduct studies on input like
seed, fertilizer, irrigation water
requirements
of crops/plants.
- Develop control measures for
control of weeds, insects, pests and
diseases
based on Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
strategy.
- Screen new incoming
pesticides for standardization.
- Produce Pre-basic and basic
seed of crops for further multiplication.
- Provide facilities to the
farmers for testing of Soil, Water and
fertilizer
samples

Sakrand, Mirpurkhas (3), Kotdiji,
Sanghar,
Shikarpur, Kot Ghulam Muhammad, Sarhad and Husri.
- Main function of research stations and
sub-stations is;
to test different crops varieties developed in
particular ecological conditions
to promote/ demonstrate research activities in
respective zones to create awareness amongst
farmers.
- 13 Soil & Water Testing Labs. at
Tandojam, Malir, Makli, Badin,
Mirpurkhas, Sanghar,
Sakrand, Dadu, Naushero Feroze, Khairpur, Rohri,
Shikarpur and Jacobabad.
- 5000 soil samples, 6000 water samples and 500
fertilizer samples are
being tested annually on an
average.
